Neoven 70%

Product description

NEOVEN 70%

Each 100 g contains:

Neomycin sulfate……70 g

Description

Neomycin is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic with bactericidal properties, exhibiting significant efficacy against multiple Enterobacteriaceae, including *Escherichia coli*. Its antibacterial action is mediated by disrupting ribosomal function. When given orally, systemic absorption of neomycin is minimal (less than 5%), leaving most of the compound active within the gastrointestinal tract. Neomycin retains its activity in the presence of enzymes and food. These characteristics contribute to its suitability for preventing and treating enteric infections instigated by susceptible bacteria.

Indications

Neoven 70% is recommended for the prevention and management of bacterial enteritis in calves, sheep, goats, swine, and poultry caused by bacteria sensitive to neomycin, such as *E. coli*, *Salmonella spp.*, and *Campylobacter spp.*

Contraindications

  • Individuals with hypersensitivity to neomycin
  • Animals suffering from severe renal impairment
  • Administration during periods of active microbial digestion
  • Use in pregnant animals
  • Application in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption
